Evernote is one of my favorite all time tools to stay organize. I make a list of blog topics I want to eventually write about or track expenses, this app does the job. It is an app that can be accessed via your smartphone, tablet, laptop, desktop whatever you work on. There’s a basic free version (which I use) and they also have a couple of paid versions with tons more features. I don’t use Evernote just for my blog, I use it to stay on track with my business, passwords, grocery list, kids shopping, menu etc. I can add something right now on my phone and then it syncs automatically to my laptop. Easy peasy I tell you and it’s truly amazing all the stuff I don’t have to memorize since I use Evernote. Click here to try Evernote for yourself.
This one is my writing partner, I do a lot when I publish a blog post, the one thing I don’t worry about is spelling, grammar, and plagiarism. You know why? Because I use Grammarly, see the banner above here? It helps me write and publish a blog post, social media post, even my facebook posts without any errors and that speeds up my time so I can spend my time wisely promoting my work instead of doing spellcheck. There is a free version and a premium version of Grammarly, click here to try Grammarly for free.
So you’ve started a new blog, business, venture. You’re adding content and publishing your work or better yet selling products. How do you measure the success? How do you know if your work is being seen or if your blog or business is growing? Simple, get Google Analytics. I use it for my blog AND business, I can tell real time data (if someone is on my site right now) what part of the world they are, what device they are using, how long they spend on my site, and so much more. I can see daily reports, weekly, monthly or custom. I can even have these reports emailed to me every night. I can also see where the bulk of my traffic is coming from, one day it might be my Instagram and another day it might be Pinterest, so I know how to promote in the future and where to spend my advertising $ and time. If you take no other tools away from this blog post, please make this one a must.
See that big, cute blog image above? I designed it myself. No fancy editing tool or photoshop needed. I went to google and typed in Canva.com and that’s where I create, edit, save and download all of my images for my blog and social media. I can crop, design, add watermark, create a pdf, jpeg image if I want too. I can do anything with Canva without investing in an expensive photoshop software. They have a free version and a premium. Everything you see on my blog and on social media was done with the free version 🙂 wham bam thank you maam!!!
This one is for email and subscription sign-ups. Do you want to keep your most loyal readers in the loop whenever you publish a new post? What if you have a giveaway or contest. The best way to alert your peeps is by sending them an email. Let me introduce you to MailChimp free for your first 2000 subscribers and unlimited emails every month. You can create your own email with text and images to send out whenever or automate it to send itself. There are other email services like ConvertKit and Aweber but if you are just starting out MailChimp is free and easy to use.
